The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is eager to open a new club in Vermillion.
Vermillion School District Superintendent Doctor Damon Alvey first approached club administrators in 2019 to express interest in the Club to assume the current after-school program, Beyond School Adventures. Conversations between the Vermillion Public Schools and the Boys and Girls club continued and came to fruition in December 2021.
While the Boys & Girls Club of Vermillion works to attain proper state licensing and hire a qualified and passionate full-time Executive Director to lead the Vermillion club, the current after-school program will remain in place with current staff. The Boys and Girls Club will officially open when school resumes in the fall of 2022.
Boys & Girls Club of Vermillion will retain a fee-based structure to support operation, programming, and staffing costs as Club staff and Advisory Council members work to seek and build community relationships and partnerships.
