There was a first-time occurrence Thursday at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Yankton.  P-G-A pro Scott Larson says two golfers carded a hole in one on the same day.  Dr. Jay Hubner got his fourth career ace using a 6-iron on the 140 yard sixth hole at Hillcrest.  John Hagemann notched his first career hole-in-one using a 6-iron on the 151-yard 11th hole.

Mount Marty golfer Joe Brinkman had the second best 36-hole total in school history this week with a 143 at the Briar Cliff Invitational in Sioux City.  Brinkman tied for second in the meet individually as the lancers finished 7th among the 12 teams.  Lancer senior Robbie Neswick holds the school record with a two-round total of 141, and he shot a 153 score this week in Sioux City.

The Mount Marty College baseball team has a key doubleheader at Morningside College this afternoon.  The Lancers are tied for seventh place in the G-PAC with a 6 and 10 record, while the Mustangs are 9 and 7 and in a fourth-place tie in the conference after sweeping Mount Marty on Thursday.  We’ll have the games broadcast starting at 1 p-m on AM 1450, KYNT.

The Mount Marty men’s tennis squad starts their first spring season with two matches in Lincoln today.  The Lancer men and women will both face Concordia and Doane in dual meets this afternoon.

The U-S-D women’s tennis squad is hosting South Dakota State at 1:00 today at the indoor courts in Sioux Falls.  The Coyotes are 2 and 2 in the Summit League after a 6-1 victory over I-U-P-U-I on Friday night.

The Coyote softball team has a game at North Dakota State today.  N-D-S-U took game one of a softball doubleheader yesterday over the Coyotes 8-0, but U-S-D got a four-hit shutout from pitcher Rachel Cue in a 1-0 victory in the nightcap on Friday.

The U-S-D men’s basketball team will get the services of a graduate transfer athlete from the University of Nebraska for one season.  Nick Fuller is a 6’7” forward who played 15 games for the Huskers last year.
