The Yankton Bucks varsity football game against Mitchell will be held at the Freeman field at 7:00 tonight.  This is a Home Game for Yankton, and all Activity and Senior Passes will be honored.  Our broadcast on AM 1450 KYNT will begin at 6:05 tonight.  Watertown blanked Yankton 14-0 in freshman football last night.

The Yankton Boys Golf Invitational will be held at Hillcrest Country Club today.  There are 14 teams competing for honors in the meet which starts at 10 a-m.

The Yankton Gazelles Tennis team continues their busy schedule as they take part in the Brandon Valley Invitational starting at 9:00 this morning.  On Thursday, the Gazelles raised their season record to 4 and 6 with an 8-1 win over Vermillion.

The Yankton volleyball team picked up a sweep at Brandon Valley last night, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-23.  Kate Budig led the Gazelles with 12 kills, Cameryn Specht had 25 assists and Haley Mines led the team with 14 digs.  Yankton is 2 and 3 overall and will host third-ranked Aberdeen Central tomorrow.

Yankton welcomed a dozen other schools for their annual Cheer and Dance Invitational last night, as O’Gorman won the Cheer title and Dakota Valley took the Dance championship.  The Gazelles placed sixth in the Dance competition and took 11th place in the Competitive Cheer results.

The Yankton Gazelles club softball team took a doubleheader over Mitchell last night at Sertoma Park by scores of 3-2 and 8-0.  Bridget Nolz fired a five-hit shutout in the second game, Bailey Kortan scored four runs and Lilly Ryken had three hits on the night as the Gazelles evened up their season record to 8 and 8.

Crofton is unbeaten and rated 11th in Class C-2 football this week, with the Warriors playing at second-ranked Oakland Craig tonight.  Tonight in Class D-2, the eighth-ranked Wynot Blue Devils have a contest at fifth-rated Humphrey Saint Francis…and seventh-ranked Bloomfield will host Randolph.  The Bon Homme Cavaliers are second in Class 9-Double-A football this week with a home game against Kimball-White Lake this evening, while Avon has a big test when they host Gayville-Volin.

The Mount Marty College volleyball squad has two matches in Omaha today, facing teams from Mayville State University and William Penn University.  The Lancers are 2 and 3 on the season and will have two more matches tomorrow.

The Siouxland Invitational men’s golf meet continues today for the Mount Marty in Orange City, Iowa.  The Lancers shot a 317 at the Ridge yesterday as junior Joe Brinkman led the squad with a 78.

Yankton golfer Cal Carlson carded his first career hole-in-one Thursday at Hillcrest Country Club.  Carlson aced the 128-yard 6th hole at Hillcrest with a six-iron.  Head professional Scott Larson says this was the ninth hole-in-one at Hillcrest this year.
