Yankton Transit

With shrinking revenue streams Yankton Transit is facing some difficult decisions as they go about the business of providing low-cost transportation to area citizens.

With a fleet that includes eleven vehicles that are 2003 models Board President Tony Erickson says finding local matches for the grant funding they get from state and federal sources remains a priority for the agency.

Erickson says the board is exploring the possibility of beginning a fundraising campaign to help replace their older vehicles.

Erickson says so far in 2017 Yankton Transit has provided more than sixty-six thousand rides to area citizens.
