A young Yankton couple has won the “Pam Kettering Spirit of Volunteerism Award”. Last night at the United Way Campaign Kickoff Event, Jesse and Amy Bailey were given the honor for volunteering.
Jesse Bailey directs the Pathways Shelter for the Homeless and says Yankton is a special place to live.
Jesse and Amy Bailey are also involved in Keep Yankton Beautiful, the Morning Optimist Club, the United Way LINC and SPARK groups, Big Friend/Little Friend, Mount Marty College and Parents As Teachers.
Amy Bailey says it’s great to support the Yankton United Way, because they support great agencies and programs for all ages in the Yankton area.
Also on Tuesday, Big Thanks awards were given to Vishay-Dale Electronics, Truxedo and Jeff Reynolds for producing the campaign videos.
This year’s campaign goal is 625-thousand dollars, a four percent increase from a year ago which will help United Way support 60 programs in the Yankton area.
