The Yankton Bucks had four selections on the E-S-D All-Conference football team which was announced on Monday.  Wide receiver Rex Ryken, offensive lineman Reese Anderson, defensive back Cameron Krejci and punter Michael Drotzmann were named All-Conference for the Bucks, who finished with a 4 and 7 overall record after reaching the 11-Double-A semifinals.

A number of football coaching awards will be announced during the state championships this week at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.  Tom Culver of Avon will be given the “Keeper of the Game Award” and Jim Sattler from Menno will be honored for his 40 years of coaching football in South Dakota.

Two high school runners from Beresford have been honored by the South Dakota Cross-Country Coaches Association.  Cait Savey was named an All-American Cross-Country girls runner and Alec Atwood of Beresford was given Honorable Mention.

The Quarter-Final round of Nebraska Eight-Man football playoffs will be held today.  In Class D-2, top-seed and unbeaten Bloomfield will host Falls City Sacred Heart at 3:00…and sixth-seed Wynot has a home game against unbeaten B-D-S at 5:00 today.  In Class D-1, number-one seed and undefeated Creighton will host East Butler at 4:00 this afternoon.

The Mount Marty women’s basketball season continues tonight with a home game against Peru State.  The Lancers are unbeaten in three games, while the Bobcats have won both of their games this season.  Our broadcast of Mount Marty women’s basketball starts at 5:35 p-m on AM 1450, KYNT.

The South Dakota State football team has moved up to fifth in the F-C-S Coaches Poll after defeating North Dakota State 33-21 on Saturday.  The Bison fell to sixth place and U-S-D dropped to tenth in the national rankings after losing 34-29 at Northern Iowa on Saturday.  The Coyotes have a big game next Saturday at North Dakota State, while the Jacks will host 17th ranked Western Illinois on Saturday.
