The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle crash Friday resulting in a fatality.
At 4:12 p-m Friday, a pickup driven by 66-year-old Dennis Broderson of Coleridge was southbound on Highway 15 one mile south of Laurel when he crossed the center line and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a farm field entrance and vaulted and came to rest on its roof.
Broderson was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities noted that seat belts were in use at the time of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Laurel Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.
