South Dakota Shakespeare Festival

The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival has announced that Richard the Third, their first history play will be presented as their sixth summer season next June in Vermillion.

Artistic Director Chaya Gordon-Bland says in this tale of political intrigue, Richard, Duke of Gloucester  entices the audience to join him on a treacherous climb to political power.

While Shakespeare’s work can be difficult for people to read Gordon-Bland says these plays are best appreciated through a live theatrical performance.

The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival’s production of Richard the Third is set for next June 7th through the 10th at Vermillion’s Prentis Park.
