The Yankton Bucks went on a 23-2 run late in the game and went on to a 50-39 victory at fifth-ranked Sioux Falls Washington last night. Matthew Mors and Jack Wolfgram each scored 13 points and Rex Ryken added 11 as the Bucks raised their record to 10 and 5 and are now seeded fifth in Class Double-A boys basketball.
Sioux Falls Washington erased an early ten-point deficit and defeated Yankton by a 66-42 score last night in girls basketball. Sophomore Madison Wuebben led the Gazelles with 16 points as their record dropped to 4 and 11 overall. The Yankton teams will host Mitchell in a doubleheader Friday night.
Mount Marty College will take on a pair of top-ten ranked teams in NAIA basketball tonight in Orange City, Iowa. USD sophomore Ethan Bray won the Summit League Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week award. Bray won the pole vault at the Dakota Realty meet last Saturday with a personal best of 17 feet, 11 inches ranking 11th in the nation.
