Competing in their first U-S Intercollegiate Indoor National Championship in Las Vegas, a Mount Marty College archer is bringing home the gold!
Lancer freshman McKenna Cooley of Henderson, Nevada won the title and the gold medal in the Women’s Olympic Recurve Division by defeating an archer from Kentucky 6-3 in the finals on Friday night.
Coach Jos trains Olympic archers and also serves as the Mount Marty archery coach and says Cooley works very hard in training.
Mount Marty sophomore Callie Stevens from Missoula, Montana also competed and reached the quarterfinals in the national meet.
University of South Dakota sophomore Robby Weissinger took home a bronze medal at the Indoor Nationals on Friday.
