The USD and SDSU basketball teams will face each other in both the women’s and men’s championship games today in the Summit League post-season tournament in Sioux Falls. In the semi-finals Monday, the USD women defeated Oral Roberts 65-53 as Kate Liveringhouse led the Coyotes with 19 points. SDSU rolled past Western Illinois 80-53 yesterday as Madison Guebert topped the Jacks with 20 points. In the men’s semifinals on Monday, SDSU routed North Dakota State 78-57 as David Jenkins, Jr. paced the Jacks with 24 points. USD crushed Denver 76-58 as Matt Mooney led the Coyotes with 20 points. The women’s title game is at 1:00 today and the men’s championship is at 8:00 tonight in Sioux Falls.
USD junior Jessica Rogers was named the Summit League Softball Player of the Week. Rogers was 9 for 13 with two homers and six RBI’s as the Coyotes won three of five at the Grand Canyon Classic in Phoenix.
The Mount Marty softball squad plays two games tonight in Tucson, Arizona. The Lancers will face Aquinas at 5 p-m and take on St. Xavier at 7:00. The Mount Marty baseball team has today off on their spring break trip and will meet Waldorf in a doubleheader tomorrow in Tucson.
The Round of 16 games in South Dakota high school boys basketball playoffs have been postponed today. The Bon Homme Cavaliers will take on Dakota Valley Thursday night at 7:00 at Yankton high School.
The Yankton Quarterback Club meeting for Wednesday has been cancelled. The Quarterback Club has now concluded for this season.
