Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball will be in action tonight, as they host Hastings College for a GPAC doubleheader inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancer men enter tonight 11th in the conference standings following their 73 to 70 win over Northwestern on Saturday, while the MMU women are 10th in the GPAC after losing over the weekend. Hastings are 2nd in the conference on the men’s side, and 9th on the women’s side.

The women will play first at 5:30 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:45. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

A winter storm swept through the area Monday and Tuesday, causing several schools to cancel or postpone their scheduled events, including Yankton Gymnastics.

The Gazelles were supposed to compete in a triangular in Brookings last night against the Bobcats and Harrisburg, but the meet was canceled and no make-up date will be scheduled for the event. Other area cancelations and postponements from yesterday are listed below.

  • The Hartington-Newcastle vs Niobrara-Verdigre basketball doubleheader has been postponed to tomorrow, January 11th.
  • Gayville Volin boys basketball vs Sioux Falls Lutheran was moved to February 8th. 
  • The Avon vs Freeman Academy-Marion basketball doubleheader was postponed with no make-up date announced.
  • The Scotland vs Centerville basketball doubleheader was postponed with no make-up date announced.
  • The Irene-Wakonda vs Wagner basketball doubleheader has been postponed with no make-up date announced at this time.
  • The Vermillion vs Madison basketball doubleheader has been postponed with no make-up date announced.
  • The Bloomfield vs O’Neill St. Mary’s basketball doubleheader was postponed. No make-up date has been announced.
  •  The Cedar Catholic vs Wynot basketball doubleheader was postponed with no make-up date announced.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling have a home triangular scheduled for tomorrow night, as they host Aberdeen Central and Brandon Valley for the event. Matches are set to begin at 5:00 PM at Yankton High School.

The Yankton Quarterback Club is scheduled to host their weekly meeting today at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.

This week’s featured guest speaker will be Big Ten Football Official Monte Tilgner. The meeting is set to begin at noon.

The final FCS Football Poll of the season has been released, with South Dakota State ranked #1 as the undefeated champions, and South Dakota ranked #4 after their best FCS season in program history.

The Jackrabbits completed a perfect 15 and 0 season with their win over Montana on Sunday. SDSU became the third team since the year 2000 to win back-to-back titles, joining North Dakota State and Appalachian State, who are now at the FBS level.

The Coyotes captured their first 10-win season and highest final ranking for the team since making the jump to the FCS level. USD also appeared in their first-ever FCS Quarterfinal this past year.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night, as they take on Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball will be at home tomorrow night for their matchup with Oral Roberts. Tip-off from Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball hit the road tomorrow night, as they take on St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball will St. Thomas tomorrow night to re-open Summit League play. Tip-off from Frost Arena is slated for 7:00 PM.
