The University of South Dakota picked up their first men’s basketball win after five losses Saturday night in defeating rival South Dakota State 91-78 in the final game of the Dakota Showcase at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. Senior Stanley Umude scored a career-high 41 points and added 11 rebounds for the Coyotes. It was the most points by a USD men’s basketball player in over 15 years. The Coyotes have their home opener Wednesday night in Vermillion against Drake University.
