Officials with Avera Sacred Heart Hospital have announced the first administrations of COVID 19 vaccine to frontline healthcare workers in the Yankton community.
Vice-President of Avera Medical Group Quality Dr. David Basel says a huge death toll would be needed in order to achieve the level of herd immunity that the vaccine can provide without that number of illnesses and deaths.
