After lengthy discussion Monday evening, the Yankton City Commission approved a façade grant application for the Anderson Realty Building and continuing the program through another funding round this year.
The façade grants were suspended last year due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and City Manager Amy Leon says the program played an important role in the momentum seen in the Meridian District during the last several years.
Speaking in support of funding the program again this year, Commissioner Mason Schramm says in order to move forward ahead of this year’s construction season, the application process needs to get underway.
The Yankton City Commission approved a thirty thousand dollar façade grant for the Anderson Realty Building and another thirty thousand dollars for this year’s program.
