The Blizzard Warning for most of southeast South Dakota including Yankton County expired at 6:00 this morning.
National Weather Service meteorologist Jeff Chapman says the high winds will remain with us throughout the morning.
Chapman says much of the area received an inch of snow with consistent winds of 40 to 60 miles an hour causing drifting in spots along with very limited visibility.
Chapman says travel remains dangerous this morning.
Motorists are always encouraged to pack a winter survival kit and have a fully charged cell phone with any type of travel during these winter months.
The Blizzard conditions caused many school districts, including Yankton and Vermillion, to be closed for today.
