Over the next several days, our area of the country is expecting some of the most bitter daytime and overnight temperatures we are likely to see this winter season.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Kyle Weisser (weye-sur) says we can expect the cold Arctic air that has moved into our region recently to be further reinforced this weekend.
Weisser says the two coldest mornings are likely to be Monday and Tuesday when actual air temperatures could reach 25 degrees below zero.
Weisser says once this Arctic system moves out of our region about mid-week, we can expect daytime temperatures to rebound quickly.
Weisser says any precipitation we receive through this weekend is likely to be insignificant with the biggest threats being extremely cold temperatures and wind chills.
