There were a couple of close games in northeast Nebraska last night to begin the girls basketball sub-district playoffs. In Class C-2, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge edged Creighton 46-41 and the Bears will now face top-ranked Crofton at 5:30 tonight. In Class D-1, Niobrara-Verdigre ousted Bloomfield 49-46 and the Cougars will take on top-seed Hartington Cedar Catholic at 6:00 this evening.
