A two-vehicle accident west of Wagner killed four people and injured another Tuesday evening.
A car was southbound on State Highway 50 two miles west of Wagner at 6:10 PM Tuesday and failed to stop at an intersection. The car collided with a westbound Jeep Cherokee on State Highway 46.
The 64-year-old female driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. The car went into a ditch and started on fire. The 31-year-old female driver, a 28-year-old female passenger and a 33-year-old male passenger were all pronounced dead at the Wagner Hospital. A 27-year-old male passenger was flown to a Sioux Falls Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate and the names of those involved are not being released at this time.
