South Dakota started their football season on Saturday with a 27-20 victory at seventh-ranked Illinois State. Freshman Carson Camp passed for 221 yards and accounted for three Coyote touchdowns, while the USD defense caused seven Illinois State turnovers in the win.
The North Dakota Fighting Hawks scored three touchdowns in the second half to upset third-ranked South Dakota State 28-17 on Saturday.
