Crofton, Hartington Cedar Catholic and Wynot each won their first-round games Wednesday at the Nebraska Girls Basketball State Tournament in Lincoln.
Top-seed Crofton whipped Centennial 62-37 as Lacey Sprakel and Alexis Folkers both scored 15 points for the Lady Warriors. Crofton will face Bridgeport in a Class C-2 semifinal contest at 6:15 tonight. In Class D-1, Hartington Cedar Catholic led all the way in defeating South Platte 46-37 as Brynn Wortmann paced the Trojans with 19 points and they will meet second-seed Weeping Water at 4:00 today in a semifinal. Class D-2 defending champion Wynot eliminated C-W-C by a 49-39 score last night and will face Falls City Sacred Heart this morning at 11:15. All the semifinal games today will be in the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.
