Arbor Day is held on the last Friday of April each year, and is meant to celebrate the planting of trees in our communities.
Yankton Parks and Recreation Director Todd Larson says there is a special Arbor Day tree planting tomorrow morning at 9:00 at the Marne Creek West Greenway off West City Limits Road.
Larson says the planting of trees can benefit a city in many ways.
Yankton has been honored as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for 38 consecutive years.
