The Yankton Police Department is investigating multiple catalytic converter thefts.
Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says that last week, the Yankton Police Department received multiple reports of catalytic converters being removed from vehicles near a business on East Highway 50. They also received a report of a catalytic converter being stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Locust Street.
Foote reminds residents to be aware of potential future thefts regarding catalytic converters on vehicles. He says thieves seek to steal these items due to the metals they contain. They can be removed within minutes.
