On Thursday, the Yankton County Office of Emergency Management will be visiting the local second-grade classrooms to teach them about severe weather preparedness. A special appearance by Tommy the Turtle, the mascot for the South Dakota Department of Public Safety’s Office of Emergency Management, will be making an appearance in the classrooms as well Thursday.
