  • Yankton Gazelles Golf returns to the course today as they travel to Brookings Country Club for the Bobcats Invitational. This is the last non-playoff competition for the Gazelles, as the ESD Meet is on Tuesday. Today’s invitational begins at 10am.
  • There was a celebration of the newly crowned 2022 Class A State Tennis Champion Yankton Bucks last night at the high school theatre. Bucks seniors Gage Becker, Keaton List and Ryan Schulte spoke, as well as YHS AD Ryan Mors, assistant coach Vanessa Rockne, the MC of the event Marc Bies, and head coach Ryan Hage. In true Yankton athletics fashion, Coach Hage spent just as much time eyeing the future of the program as he did celebrating.

  • It’s playoff time for South Dakota High School Baseball, and the playoff bracket has been set. The Bucks, seeded 9th, will take on 8th seeded Pierre in the first round Saturday at Ronken Field in Sioux Falls. The winner of that matchup advances to face #1 seed Sioux Falls Roosevelt in the quarterfinal round immediately following the opening round matchup. Catch the action on KYNT and KYNTV with the voice of Yankton Baseball, Bryce Ladwig. Pregame coverage begins at 430pm, first pitch at 5pm.

  • South Dakota sophomore Demar Francis has been voted the Summit League Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship by the league’s head coaches announced yesterday. A Coyote has collected three Summit League Most Outstanding Performer awards since the category debuted in 2018. Alumni Joe Reagan (2018) and Chris Nilsen (2019) were previous recipients.
