  • The District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament begins tomorrow in Freeman. South Central League Champion #1 Lesterville, and #2 Tabor each receive a first-round bye, but Lesterville will face the winner of tomorrows Wynot vs Crofton matchup slated to begin at 6pm, and Tabor will take on the winner of tomorrows Freeman vs Menno matchup slated for 8pm. The second-round games are scheduled for Sunday evening.
  • Playoff Legion Baseball begins tomorrow across the state, as the top eight teams in Class A host the next eight in a best of three series, with a state tournament berth on the line. Yankton, the 10th seed, travels to #7 Harrisburg tomorrow and Saturday, seeking its first state tournament berth since 2019. You can catch the Yankton on KYNT listening platforms with Bryce Ladwig, beginning tomorrow pregame 530pm, first pitch 6pm from Harrisburg Baseball Stadium.
  • South Dakota women’s basketball has been named to the 2021-22 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top-25 Honor Roll. The Coyotes receive the recognition for the sixth time in the last seven years and 15th time overall. The Coyotes complied a team grade-point average of 3.588 for 20th on the NCAA Division I list. South Dakota joins South Dakota State, Western Illinois, and North Dakota in representing the Summit League on the list.
  • Yankton Fury Fire (18U) and Yankton Fury Red (18U) Softball clubs are competing in the Northern American Fastpitch Association National Tournament in the Twin Cities next week the 28th through the 31st. The two Yankton clubs are amongst 70 other teams competing. Bracket play on the 30th follows two days of pool play. Fury Red begins play at 8am versus Badger Blitz, while Fury Fire takes on the Minnesota Snocatz at 945am.
