The University of South Dakota hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new School of Health Sciences Building on Thursday.
Work on the 45,000 square foot building began in April 2021, but USD President Sheila Gestring, says that this was in the works long before that.
The first floor of the new building is now the Delta Dental Oral Health Center, which was named in honor of a $1 million gift from the Delta Dental of South Dakota Foundation.
Dr. Haifa Abou Samra, the Dean of the School of Heath Sciences says that the new building will help students train together as a team.
Other new additions to the new building include technology enhanced classrooms, heath science laboratories, simulation rooms, as well as study space and workplaces for students and staff.
