Yankton Bucks Football took their first loss of the season Friday night, as they fell to the Pierre Governors on the road 55-10. Bucks Defensive Coordinator Justin Olson spoke on the Coaches Corner Show Saturday morning about the quick mental rebound he expects from the Bucks moving into homecoming week. The Bucks, now 3-1 on the season, drop to 2nd in the ESD Conference Standings, 3rd in the Class 11AA Standings, and face off vs #2 Tea Area at home this Friday for the Pioneer Days Homecoming Game. The last time the two teams met on the gridiron was last years 11AA Semi-Final matchup, where Tea Area advanced to the dome after a 35-28 victory over the Bucks.

The USD Coyotes football program defeated the Cal Poly Mustangs 38-21 at the DakotaDome Saturday. South Dakota improved to 1-2 on the season. The Yotes next host North Dakota State University Saturday from the DakotaDome at 1pm.

The SDSU Jackrabbit football program downed Butler 45-7 in Brookings Saturday. The Jackrabbits are now 2-1 overall and begins conference play versus Missouri State at 2pm in Springfield, Missouri.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers fell to #6 Oklahoma 49-14 Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE. The Huskers, now 1-3 on the season, have an off week, then begin conference play versus Indiana on Saturday October 1st.

Yankton Competitive Dance finished 4th, and Competitive Cheer finished 13th at the Brookings Invitational on Saturday. Dance finished with a 275.75 score, while Brandon Valley took first with a 294.75 score. Competitive Cheer scored a 183.00, and Sioux Falls Jefferson tallied a 278.00 score and finished 1st. Both teams now travel to the Huron Invite tomorrow beginning at 5pm at Huron Arena.

Yankton Soccer competes in a varsity double-header tomorrow versus Pierre at Crane-Youngworth Field. You can catch the action live on KYNT and KYNTV with Josh Boelter and Brayden Butler. Pregame coverage begins at 330pm, before the Gazelles matchup at 4pm.

Yankton Bucks Golf competes in the Watertown Invitational tomorrow at the Watertown Municipal Cattail Golf Course. Tee time is set for 10am.

The Mount Marty football team fell to 1-2 on the season after a 20-7 loss to #23 Midland University on Saturday. The Lancers lone score came off a 66 yard touchdown pass from Ken Gay to Jonah Miyazawa (Me-ah-zah-wah). Mount Marty will travel to Briar Cliff University this upcoming Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Mount Marty soccer programs played Concordia on Saturday evening at home. The Lancer women lost their matchup with a score of 6-0 and fell to 1-3-2 on the season. The Lancers will face the College of Saint Mary at Crane Youngworth Field on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. The Lancer men suffered a 2-1 loss on Saturday to Concordia and now hold a 5-1-1 record, this loss ends the Lancers unbeaten streak to start the season. The Lancers next matchup will be against Briar Cliff University on Saturday at 3:30.

The Lancer volleyball team lost in three sets to #1 Midland on the road on Friday. The Lancers are 6-6 overall now and will return home for a Wednesday evening matchup with #8 Concordia University. We will have coverage on Wednesday evening on KYNT and KYNTV at 7:30 p.m.
