The Yankton Fury Black softball team finished as the runners-up in the 2023 18U Division B South Dakota Fast Pitch Softball State Tournament over the weekend.
Fury Black advanced to the semi-finals of the double elimination bracket, before falling to the champions Fusion Synergy. Fury Black would battle back through the consolation bracket, and even hand Fusion Synergy their only loss of the tournament, forcing a winner take all final game that saw Yankton fall 7 to 2.
Yankton Fury Fire also competed in the 18U Division B state tournament, going 1 and 2 over the weekend, with an 8 to 6 victory over TSC Blaze.
Yankton Fury Lancers finished as the runners-up in the 12U division at the state tournament. They won 8 straight games following a first round loss, before falling in the final.
Yankton Post 12 return to the diamond tonight, as they travel to Renner for a double header against Post 307.
Yankton only have four league games remaining in the regular season, and are currently 3rd in the Class A standings, trailing 1st place Sioux Falls East, and 2nd place Harrisburg Gold.

The Region 4B American Legion Baseball Tournament officially begins tomorrow in Tabor, as five teams meet in a double elimination bracket, with the winner qualifying for the state tournament.
Region 4B Tournament Opening day schedule (7-18-23):
- Game One: Parkston vs Wagner at 2:00 PM, Winner faces Mount Vernon-Plankinton-Corsica-Stickney in game three
- Game Two: Tabor vs Alexandria at 4:00 PM.
- Game Three: Mount Vernon-Plankinton-Corsica-Stickney vs winner of game one at 6:00 PM.
