An Omaha woman charged in a fatal stabbing that occurred in Vermillion last July appeared in court Thursday.
Chezayia Liggins, 20, is being charged with 2nd degree murder, and two counts of 1st degree manslaughter in relation to the death of Christopher Bartling, 47.
During her appearance in court Thursday, Liggins’s defense team filed a motion to have a forensic expert review DNA evidence from the incident, which was granted by Circuit Judge Tami Bern.
Liggins is next scheduled to appear in court on March 14th for a status hearing.
