Candidates interested in running in the upcoming Yankton City Commission election have until Friday, February 23rd to return their nominating petitions.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says that candidates have to get 50 signatures in order to run for city commission.
Leon says that two candidates, Dave Carda and Craig Sommer have submitted their nominating petitions and will be on the upcoming ballot.
Leon says that three commissioners are up for reelection this year should they choose to run again, Nathan Johnson, Mike Villanueva, and Bridget Benson.
The Yankton City Commission election will be held on April 9th.
