Highway 81 north of Yankton is currently under construction.
Greg Rothschadl with the South Dakota Department of Transportation says that they’re in the process of turning a two-lane road into a four-lane road.
Rothschadl says that the initial project is expected to be completed by November with plans for a second project in 2025.
Rothschadl says that traffic should expect slower speeds in the construction area.
The initial project is estimated to cost around $16 million.
