A Yankton man has been convicted of Possession of Explosive or Device with Intent.
According to court documents, Jared Herbert Lee Nichols, 31, threatened to burn down a local business on October 30th, 2023.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Nichols bought explosives and other bomb making material to make a homemade explosive device with the intent to burn down the local business.
Nichols has been sentenced to fifteen years in the South Dakota State Penitentiary.
