A Yankton High School Senior has been selected to the United States Senate Youth Program.
Katie Schulte, who is the Vice President of her class and a National Honor Society Officer, is one of two from the state of South Dakota to be selected to the program, says that she had to write two essays during the application process.
Schulte says that since she was selected, she will get the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C.
Schulte says that she is the first Yankton student to be selected to the program in 11 years.
Schulte says that she plans to attend SDSU next fall and major in Human Biology.
