Yankton County Commission Chairman John Marquardt announced his intention to seek a seat in the House of Representatives in District 18 last week.
Marquardt says that he would still be able to hold his position on the Yankton County Commission if elected.
Marquardt says that he feels that his experience on the county commission would make him a great representative in Pierre.
Marquardt is one of two candidates to announce their intention of running for District 18 Representative in the upcoming election, with the other being incumbent Mike Stevens.
