Mount Marty Men’s Basketball will not return their leading scorer from last season, as Cole Bowen announced that he will transfer to Graceland Univesity in Lamoni, Iowa.
Bowen, who announced the transfer on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday, averaged 13.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Lancers last season. He also led the team in steals with 1.4 per game.
The Lancers finished with a 6-20 record last season, 2-18 in GPAC play. One of those wins came over then #13 ranked Northwestern, with Bowen hitting the game-winner from beyond half-court as time expired.
Bowen will join a Graceland team that went 21-9 last season, 17-7 in the Heart of America Conference, and made it to the Conference Tournament Semifinals before being eliminated by Baker.
Bowen has two years of eligibility remaining upon his transfer.
