The results are in from the Yankton City Commission election.
With three seats up for grabs, Bridget Benson, Dave Carda, and Mike Villanueva have been elected to the Yankton City Commission.
Mike Villanueva, who will be serving his second term on the commission, was the top vote getter at 27%.
Dave Carda, who served on the commission from 2007-2021, placed second in the polls with 21.8%, says that now is the right time for him to return to the commission.
Bridget Benson, who placed third with 19.4% of the votes, says she is excited to serve a third term on the commission.
Craig Sommer finished fourth with 15.3% of the votes.
In total, 1,125 voters participated in the city commission election.
While Benson and Villanueva are incumbents, Carda will be sworn in to the commission in May.
