There are three candidates for the House of Representatives, Yankton County Commission Chair John Marquardt, and incumbents Mike Stevens and Julie Auch.
A heated topic of discussion during the forum was a scorecard that was mailed to voters in District 18 by Representative Auch detailing what each legislator voted for and against during the 2024 Legislative Session.
Stevens says that he believes that the scorecard is an example of dirty politics.
The South Dakota Republican Primary is June 4th.
