After 24 years in the Legislature, Senator Jean Hunhoff will not be returning to Pierre next year after losing in the Primary to Lauren Nelson.
Hunhoff says that she believes her defeat in the Primary was due to a combination of three things; her support of Senate Bill 201, low voter turnout, and the voters wanting to see a change in the Legislature.
Hunhoff says that she is undecided if she would run again for Senate at this point.
Hunhoff says that she is thankful that District 18 showed confidence in her to serve the district for 24 years.
