Yankton Post 12 split their doubleheader with Sioux Falls West last night, losing game one 2 to 1 before winning game two 15 to 12.

Yankton was held hitless in game one and was down by six in game two, but Post 12 fought back and took their first lead of the game on a three-run home run from Lucas Kampshoff.

Kampshoff finished game two 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Every Yankton player to register an at-bat tallied a hit in the win.

Yankton is back in action tomorrow for a road doubleheader against Brookings. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 5:00 PM with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 4:30. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

The University of South Dakota Women’s Basketball Program announced yesterday that the team would take on the University of Nebraska in a neutral site matchup this coming season.

The game, scheduled for November 15th, will take place at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

USD is 6 and 4 all-time inside the Pentagon. This will be the 12th meeting all-time between USD and Nebraska in Women’s Basketball, and the first since 2013.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball announced yesterday that they will compete in the 2024 Cayman Islands Classic in George Town, Grand Cayman.

Five of the eight teams, including SDSU, are coming off postseason appearances, including three in the NCAA tournament.

The Cayman Islands Classic will be held from November 24th through the 26th. Joining SDSU in the classic will be Boston College, Boise State, Duquesne (Doo-cane), Boston College, High Point, Hampton, Missouri State, and Old Dominion.

A new set of South Dakota Amateur baseball polls were released yesterday, and four South Central League teams made this week’s list.

For the SCL, Yankton is tied for 5th in Class A. In Class B, Tabor is 4th, Lesterville is 9th, and Crofton is receiving votes. Full polls are listed below.
