Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball returns to action today with a road doubleheader against Brandon Valley.

Post 12 hasn’t played a game since they completed their West River trip on June 29th. Yankton went 3 and 2 over those 5 games, defeating Rapid City Post 320 and seeping Box Elder in a doubleheader. Post 12 was swept by Rapid City Post 22 for their two losses.

First pitch of tonight’s doubleheader is scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Yankton Fury Black 18u finished 3rd in their pool and advanced to the semifinals of the Division B Championship at the Ringneck International Softball Tournament over the weekend.

Fury Black went 1 and 3 in pool play. In the B Division Bracket, Yankton defeated TSC Blaze 7 to 0 in round one and Manitoba Phillies 19 to 5 in round two, before falling in the semifinal round 4 to 1 to eventual champions Prodigy Chrastil.

Yankton Fury White 18u also competed in the tournament, defeating Columbus Havoc 11 to 8 in round one of bracket play before losing to the eventual runner-up Prodigy Nationals Thompson in round two.

The Yankton High School wrestling program and the Jr. Buck Wrestling Club will host a wrestling camp on Saturday, July 13th at Yankton High School.

Current collegiate wrestlers Nash Hutmacher of Nebraska and Wyatt Turnquist of Northern State will be at the camp, helping train all wrestlers in attendance.

The youth camp (grades K-6) will run from 10 AM to Noon, while the advanced (grades 7-12) will run from 1:00 PM to 3 PM.

  • Wynot edged out Freeman 6 to 5
  • Yankton fell to Mitchell in non-league play 6 to 5.
