Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball wrapped up the Gopher Classic with a 2,2, and 1 record in pool play following a 4 to 2 victory over Rosetown on Sunday.

Trey Sager led Yankton at the plate, finishing 1 for 2 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Easton Feser (Feezer) got the win on the mound, striking out 7 batters over 6 and 2/3rds innings.

Post 12 did not advance out of pool play in the Classic. Next up is a doubleheader tomorrow night against Renner Post 307 Royals. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:30 with the first pitch of game one set for 5:00 PM.

Yankton Fury White Softball finished as the runner-up at the USA Softball South Dakota Fast Pitch ‘B’ State Tournament over the weekend, falling to RC Sliders 7 to 6 in the championship game.

After finishing pool play 0 and 2, Fury White defeated TSC Blaze 9 to 1 and Sioux Falls Flash twice, 7 to 3 and 4 to 3, in bracket play to advance to the Championship game.

Yankton Fury Black Softball finished the USA Softball South Dakota Fast Pitch ‘B’ State Tournament with a 3 and 2 overall record, as they were eliminated by eventual champions Catalyst National 6 to 5.

In the elimination game, Payton Moser led Yankton at the plate going 2 for 2 with a home run, while Logan Miller added two hits of her own.

Catalyst National would go on to defeat Brookings Outlaws 16 to 3 in the championship game.

Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton held the Fox Run Open yesterday, with Marc Gubbels topping the championship division, shooting a 1-under 71.

Elsewhere during the event, Brock Mueller had the best score in the open division finishing even on the day at 72, and Jeff Erickson was the top finisher in the senior division with a 76.

The Yankton Tappers were crowned South Central League champions last night with a 6 to 3 victory over the Crofton Bluejays.

Joe Gokie tallied a pair of hits at the plate and struck out four batters over three scoreless innings of relief for the win on the mound.

The Tappers end their regular season with a 12 and 2 record in South Central League Play.
