Both Yankton and Vermillion will continue to spray for mosquitoes this week.
Vermillion Parks and Rec Director Jim Goblirsch confirmed that that Vermillion has seen an increase in the number of their mosquito population.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says that with the mosquitoes, the West Nile Virus is a concern.
The first case of the West Nile Virus in South Dakota was confirmed in a person over 64 years-old in Beadle County last Thursday.
