Yankton received 2-4 inches of rain today and was placed under a Flash Flood Warning by the National Weather Service. Yankton County Emergency Management Director Paul Scherschligt says the heavy rain over a short period of time has closed a portion of U-S Highway 81.
Scherschligt says there were other places in the county where water came over the road. He reminds motorists to not drive onto a flooded roadway.
Scherschligt says any additional heavy rain could lead to another flash flood situation.
