Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball ended their regular season with a split in yesterday’s triangular, falling to Pierre 7 to 2 and defeating the Renner Sultans 10 to 4.
Against Pierre, Yankton was held to just three hits as a team with Lucas Kampshoff and Tate Beste scoring the two runs.
Kampshoff would lead the Yankton bats against Renner, ending the game 3 for 5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Easton Feser got the win on the mound, striking out three batters over three innings of work.
Yankton is in line to host the Super Regional round of the Class A postseason. A three-game series will be held this week, with the winner advancing to the state tournament in Brookings. The Super Regional bracket has yet to be finalized.
The Yankton Reds finished 4th in the 13u division of the Bob Deery Classic over the weekend.
Yankton went 1 and 1 in pool play, defeating Sioux City Futures 9 to 1 before falling to Harrisburg Gold 7 to 6.
Yankton would go on to the 3rd place game yesterday, where they fell to Renner 15 to 0.
The Board of Directors of the South Dakota Golf Association announced on Friday the selection of three new members to the SDGA Hall of Fame.
This year’s inductees are Bert Olson of Sioux Falls, Chris Long of Presho, and Doug Murphy of Hartford.
SDGA Annual Banquet and South Dakota Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on September 14th in Sioux Falls.
South Dakota Associate Athletic Director for fan engagement Jarren Duffy announced last week the additions of Logan McNames and Kendra Rich to the Coyotes’ external staff.
McNames will take over as the university’s director of ticket sales and operations, having most recently served as the ticket operations manager at Northern Iowa.
Rich will be the new assistant director of marketing after spending the past two years as a grad assistant for athletic marketing at Central Arkansas.
