Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball will host Sioux Falls Post 15 West tomorrow for the opening game of the Class A Super Regionals.

Yankton split their regular season doubleheader against Sioux Falls West on June 18th. The series winner will advance to the American Legion State Tournament in Brookings.

The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

Yankton native and Paralympian Miles Krajewski (Kra-ski) is scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show this afternoon ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games.

Krajewski will represent the US in badminton at the Paralympics, which begins on August 28th in Paris, France.

The Kelly Clarkson show airs at 3:00 PM this afternoon on KSFY.

Former South Dakota State wide receiver Jadon Janke (Yon-kee) was selected by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL Draft last week.

Janke tallied 170 catches for 2800 yards and 30 touchdowns during his time at SDSU, averaging over 16 yards per catch during his college career.

Jadon and his twin brother Jaxon both initially signed with the Houston Texans as undrafted free agents following April’s NFL draft, and are currently participating in rookie minicamp with the Texans.

The Summit League announced yesterday that the South Dakota Coyotes had 221 athletes selected to the Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Yankton alums Thea Chance and Annika Gordon were each selected as part of the women’s track and field team, with Chance also earning a selection as a member of the cross-country program.

The 221 Coyote athletes combined for 245 total selections, which ranked 2nd most in the Summit League.

The University of South Dakota has been selected to host the 2024-25 Summit League Cross-Country Championships, and the Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Cross Country Championships will be held on November 2nd at the Bluff in Vermillion. The Outdoor Track and Field Championships will take place May 15th through 17th, 2025, at the Lillibridge Track Complex and Gottsleben Field

The District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament is scheduled to begin tomorrow, with Tabor earning the #1 seed.

Tabor finished 2nd in the South Central League this season with an 11 and 3 league record. They are the lone team with a first-round bye.

First-round matchups are #4 Freeman vs #5 Wynot tomorrow at 7:30 PM, and on Friday, #3 Lesterville vs #6 Menno at 6:00 PM, and #2 Crofton vs #7 Irene at 8:00 PM. All games are held in Lesterville.
