The name of a pilot killed in a July 31st plane crash near Irene has been released.
Yankton County Sheriff Preston Crissey says the victim of the crash was 67-year-old Charles Lawrence Schneider of Sioux Falls.
On Wednesday at approximately 7:50AM, first responders were called near the intersection of 449th Ave and 298th St. for a plane crash in a bean field.
Schneider was pronounced dead at the scene. Crissey says the crash is still being investigated by the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
