Chip sealing began earlier this week on Highway 52 towards the Gavins Point Dam.
Greg Rothschadl, with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, says that there will be pilot cars and lane closures.
Rothschadl says that the speed limit on Highway 52 will be lowered to 40 MPH while work is underway.
Rothschadl says that the project is expected to be completed by the end of the week, weather pending.
