Yankton Bucks Soccer fell to 1, 2, and 1 on the year last night, as they were defeated by the Harrisburg Tigers 1 to 0.

Despite the loss, head coach Dane Hansen had high praise for his goalkeeper Andrew Budig (boo-dig) who recorded 10 saves in the contest.

Next up for Yankton is Sioux Falls Jefferson on Tuesday.

The Yankton Gazelles were defeated by the defending state champion Harrisburg Tigers last night, 1 to 0 in Harrisburg.

Goalkeeper Elaina Mohnen (Moe-nen) shined in the net, stopping 14 total shots from the Tigers. Yankton is now 2 and 2 on the year.

Yankton returns home on Tuesday for a matchup with Sioux Falls Jefferson.

Yankton Bucks Football is hosting their scrimmage tonight at Crane-Youngworth Field.

Tonight will be the first look at this year’s Bucks team following their state runner-up finish last year.

The scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.

Mount Marty Volleyball has their first matches of the season this afternoon against  Clarke University and Calumet College of St. Joseph in Dubuque, Iowa.

Tonight will be the first matches for the Lancers under new head coach Sophia Lobo Paes (Pie-es), who has served as an assistant since 2021.

The Lancers play Clarke at 4:00 PM and Calumet College of St. Joseph at 8:00 PM.

Yankton Bucks Golf is hosting a five-team tournament today at Fox Run Golf Course.

Competing against Yankton in the event will be Brandon Valley, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls Lincoln, and Sioux Falls Washington. Tee time is scheduled for 9:00 AM.

Yankton Gazelles Tennis is on the road in Brandon today for a triangular against Watertown and Rapid City Stevens.

Yankton is undefeated to start the year at 4 and 0, with two of the wins being 9-0 sweeps over Lennox and Rapid City Central.

Yankton will face Watertown at 10:00 AM and Rapid City Stevens at 2:30 PM. Matches will be held at the Brandon Valley Middle School. Yankton and Brandon Valley will not face each other during the event.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s soccer split their doubleheader with Manhattan Christian College yesterday, with the women winning 7-0, while the men fell 2-1.

With the win, the Lancer women improve to 1 and 1 on the season, while the men are now 0 and 2.

Mount Marty is back in action today for a doubleheader against York University in York, Nebraska. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Yankton’s Joe Gokie (Go-key) and Lucas Kampshoff have been named to the Class A All-Tournament Team by the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association.

Gokie recorded 3 RBI and a home run at the plate during the tournament, while allowing one run over 7 and 2/3rds innings on the mound.

Kampshoff batted 6 for 11 during the tournament, scoring a run and adding a pair of RBIs for the Tappers.

Both Gokie and Kampshoff will be part of the Mount Marty Baseball program next season.
