Last week, the Yankton School District Alumni Association announced that they will be establishing the Bob Muth Memorial Scholarship.
Bob Muth, who was a Building Trades instructor, as well as a football and track and field coach, for over 25 years, passed away in May.
Alumni Association Director, Frani Kieffer, says that the scholarship was made possible by a $100,000 donation by Doug and Kelli Schieffer (She Fur), who both graduated from Yankton High School in the 90s.
Bob’s son, Brady Muth, who is an educator and the head football coach for Yankton High School, says that the scholarship is a way for his dad’s legacy to live on.
The details of the scholarship are still being worked on by the Schieffers, Muth, and the Yankton School District, but the scholarship will be for students planning to enter a two year or less school that offers career-focused programs.
